About Cured In Place Pipe Relining

Cured In Place Piping (CIPP) is process through which a new pipe is created within the existing pipe using a special epoxy resin. The resin is poured into the pipes where it creates the new structural strength of the pipe. This process essentially creates new pipes and gets rid of the need for damaging your Maui home’s structures, floors, interior walls, sidewalks, streets, or landscaping elements.

The CIPP method has been in use for more than 25 years. There are two man types of CIPP:
the pull in place (PIP) method, and the inversion method.

PIP Method

During the PIP method, our plumbers pull the epoxy liner into position and then cure it in place. Two access points are required for this method (one to feed the liner into, and the other to pull it into place). Some jobs require that there only be one access point, and because of that, WE USE THE INVERSION METHOD!

Inversion Method

The inversion method has several advantages:

  • Only one access point in required.
  • Over 200 feet of liner can be installed in seconds.
  • The epoxy is laid up against the pipe, where it adheres directly to the liner of the pipe. It seals any cracks, holes, and thinning areas of the pipe.

Most pipe relining projects will require the Inversion Method (CIPP). Both are reliable and efficient methods, and our Service Professionals will explain the benefits and values of why CIPP may be better option for your home.

Cured In Place Pipe Relining Process

The CIPP process typically involves three steps:

  1. Video Inspection

We’ll begin every job with a video inspection of the pipes to find the precise problem that your Maui home’s pipes are facing.

  1. Pipe Cleaning

We’ll clean out any roots and de-scale any calcite in order to get the pipes back to their original diameter before we pour in the epoxy.

  1. Install the Liner

After the cleaning is complete, we’ll install your new pipe lining.

We’ll clean out any roots and de-scale any calcite in order to get the pipes back to their original diameter before we pour in the epoxy.

  1. Reinstate any Tie Ins or Branches

If necessary, we will send our reinstatement tool down your newly installed drain line, and cut out and branches that are tied into the drain line that we relined.
